Applications are being accepted for an Accounting Analyst position in Truro, Nova Scotia (formerly Scotsburn Ice Cream Company). 


Reporting to the Operations Analysis Manager, the Accounting Analyst is responsible for controlling financial activities and participates in the preparation of the financial statements of Truro's operations. More precisely, the Accounting Analyst:

  • Participates in the preparation of the financial statements by being responsible for the operation’s balance sheet. Looks after producing the appropriate reports and ensuring the data is accurate, responsible for the availability and quality of such information;
  • Responsible for producing various analyses and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts (bank, accounts payable, accounts receivable). Analyzes provisions and prepaid expenses;
  • Manage fixed asset by maintaining the registry of assets and preparing the amortization schedule in accordance with the organization policy;
  • Ensures proper accounting for inter-company transactions;
  • Assist in various finance, accounting and ad hoc projects as needed.


The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Have a college diploma in accounting or Bachelor degree Accounting or Business Administration, accounting designation in progress (CPA) (an asset);
  • Between 1 to 2 years’ experience in bookkeeping;
  • Self-starter, rigorous and analytical;
  • Excellent command of a Microsoft Office driven computerized environment, e.g. Excel, Word.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English, French an asset.
